MEDICOLEGAL CONSULTATIONS

ACH MedicoLegal practice is based both in Sheffield and Windsor. This includes instructions from solicitors and agencies for Claimants, Defendants and also working as a single joint expert on both personal injury and clinical negligence cases.

Ordinarily patients are seen within 4 weeks of instruction and reports provided within a further 2-4 weeks. Desktop reports are provided within 4-8 weeks of receipt of instruction and medical records.

Urgent reports can be accommodated on request. On occasion, where necessary, I am able to arrange home visits for medical reports.

I have full indemnity insurance for both my clinical work and for the provision of medico-legal services.

PERSONAL INJURY

As an experienced orthopaedic surgeon, I am able to comment on straight forward cases of musculoskeletal injury including soft tissue injury and fractures affecting the lower limbs and indeed the spine.

My specialist area of interest is in spinal surgery.

In cases of multiple injury, I am able to provide an overall report for musculoskeletal injuries and a specialist report for any spinal injury.

I am also able to recommend experts in other fields such as pain medicine, psychology and psychiatry when required.

CLINICAL NEGLIGENCE

When reporting on matters of clinical negligence, I will only prepare reports in cases within my specialist area of expertise which is spinal surgery.

Andrew Howard is an experienced orthopaedic spinal surgeon whose medico-legal practice includes preparing reports for both personal injury cases and clinical negligence cases.

His particular interest is in spinal disorders, injuries and clinical negligence cases related to spinal issues.

ABOUT ME

I work as a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon in Sheffield.

I have worked as a Consultant since my appointment in 1997 to the Sheffield NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust and am an experienced spinal surgeon.

My undergraduate training was at Sheffield Medical School graduating in 1985.

My postgraduate training continued in Sheffield and I obtained the FRCS in 1991, and FRCS (Orth) in 1995.

As a consultant I work specialising in spinal surgery. My current clinical practice is entirely spinal. In addition I have worked as Medical Director for the One Health Group, a private company working alongside the National Health Service and I therefore have a unique insight with regards the interface between private and NHS hospital provision.
